This is the first camcorder I've owned since a VHS model ten years ago, so it's obviously a step up in quality. One gripe I have: nowhere in advertisements or online manuals did I hear about a restriction in altitude; but the beginning pages of the users manual states that it should not be used above 9,800 feet elevation.
