♥♥♥♥ Canon A710 IS - all good except the batteries
I really like this camera, it's use of AA batteries (rather than a custom LiPoly) makes the camera a little larger and heavier but it's definitely worth it, you can carry spare AA and you can get them just about anywhere.
That said there are two things about this camera that could be better.
1: The flash takes a long time to charge and while it's charging you can't do anything *including* turning the flash off. This is really annoying.
2: The camera isn't rechargeable ready. It begins to complain that the batteries are low when they are still at 1.35V. There is lots of useful power remaining in a traditional battery when it's at 1.35V and unfortunately a NiCad or LiMH drops to this level very early in its discharge profile. While I'm a great fan of rechargeables I may have to give up trying to use them with the A710.
