The build is not amazingly solid, it extends when zooming or being carried, and the focus is not silent. However, when stopped down to f/8 this lens is great. The IS is amazing. The focus is fast and accurate, and the build quality is good to very good. So for the price it's an excellent buy. Just don't expect miracles, and be willing to tolerate some softness wide-open at 300mm, and having it extend when carried pointing downwards.   1     2     3   Non User
