Great as a 'walk-around lens'. Although it suffers some mild distortion, vignetting is almost imperceptible. This is nice lens....it's not a lens that will get you rave reviews from fellow online review 'clubs'. If you are hiking for three days into the rockies for that special shot of an ice age carved rock, this is NOT the lens you want. But for a vacation trip this is a good choice, albeit a little expensive given the addition of near useless IS for a lens of this focal length. I put a quality B&W UV coated filter on it so as to keep what quality the lens glass has from being further degraded.   1     2     3   Non User
