WOW, I should have got this in the first place

I REALY like my Tamron 17-50. I wasn't quite happy with my Nikon 18-70. This Tamron is sharper, has better color and contrast, and I love having the speed of the 2.8. The bokeh (smooth looking areas out of focus) is quite nice too. It feels very well built, nice and solid. At first I thought I would miss th 50-70 range. But, if you have room to move I think it's only like a step or two difference. On the short end, the 17mm is a more noticeable improvement over 18MM. Seems weird, but 1mm on the short end is more noitceable than 20 on the long, but it's true.
I give it 4 stars because I have not had it long enough to really give it a 5 star rating.
