This adapter allows 58mm filters and other lens attachments, such as Canon 250D 58mm Close-up Lens, Canon TC-DC58N Tele-converter and the Canon WCDC58N Wide Angle Converter, to be connected to the PowerShot A700 digital camera lens. It adapts the specific lens barrel of the A700 to these standardized Canon accessories.

♥♥♥♥ Perhaps a little over priced.
At over $22 this adaptor should be made of aluminum. It is made out of high-grade plastic, and is well made. I use it now on my Canon A720is to attach a B&W brand 58mm UV filter to keep my lens dust free, and it also provides an effective bump-guard around the extended lens barrel, and a lens shade that is most effective at the shorter lens extensions of wider angle settings. Some reviewers complain this device blocks the flash and the optical viewfinder, and that is the case; but this is stated in my camera manual, so it did not surprise me and I will not lower my rating because of it. At the low price of the P&S cameras I would expect some trade-offs to increase the performance. If I don't want the trade-offs, I must pay more for a better camera, that's just the way it is. Now I am debating which lens to get for this adaptor, it will probably be the teleconverter.
