Useful if you need a 12v powered charger..

EFORCITY - Nikon EN-EL1/EL3 Battery Charger Set
Pros:
- It seems to fully charge EN-EL3 batteries using the 110v adapter or the 12v (cigarette lighter) adapter. Being able to charge batteries while in your vehicle is an important feature. The 12v adapter has an indicator light that come's on when it senses 12 volts.
- Very small and lightweight, which is nice when traveling.
Cons:
- The charging device itself only weighs a couple of ounces, which leads me to conclude there isn't much circuitry to prevent over-charging, or other nasty things happening to the battery. I don't know this for a fact. However, the Nikon charger weighs more, is much larger, looks like a professional unit, and of course, costs more.
- There is no brand name, manufacturer label, serial number, electrical information, or specifications, on the product. It just says "Made in Taiwan". (See customer photos above.)
- Doesn't seem to be any warranty; so if it dies, you're stuck.
Summary:
The only reason I see to buy this product is if you want to charge a battery from a vehicle's 12v outlet. (It's the only 12v charger I could find.) When a 110v outlet is available, I use a Nikon charger, because I'm sure the battery won't be over-charged or otherwise damaged. |
