Elmo MN43H Color Micro Camera description
The Elmo MN43H Color Micro Camera is compact and lightweight, and an excellent solution in many monitoring situations involving specialized circumstances. Designed to fit with Elmo's entire variety of micro- and macro-lenses, the Elmo MN43H's one-piece construction and high resolution make it perfect for medical and scientific applications, while its miniature size makes it ideal for covert surveillance purposes.

This micro camera utilizes a 0.5-inch interline-transfer color CCD (charge-coupled device) sensor, with 768-by-494 effective pixels at a horizontal resolution of 470 TVL (TV lines). This camera has a minimum illumination of 2.5 Lux, and achieves a S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio of 50 dB or better. The Elmo MN43H operates on the NTSC format, and includes both an eight-pin round-type VBS (video burst sync) or VS connector and a Y/C (luminance/chrominance or S-Video) connector for video out. This unit comes complete with features such as AGC (automatic gain control), a manual or automatic white balance, and a manual or automatic electronic shutter. Powered via an eight-pin 12-volt DC adapter, the MN43H can operate between -10 and 40-degrees Celsius.

Technical Features:

  • S/N ratio: better than 50 dB
  • Sensitivity: 2.5 Lux
  • Effective pixels: 768 by 494 pixels
  • Horizontal resolution: 470 TVL
  • Operating temperatures: -10 and 40-degrees Celsius
  • Dimensions: approximately 2 x 4 x 2 centimeters (W x D x H)
The Elmo MN43H camera a reliable and high-quality solution for a wide variety of situations. Designed for primarily indoor use, this unit requires a housing to be used in anything but well-protected outdoor environments. User's should note that the CCD sensor may become permanently damaged if exposed to long hours of direct sunlight or halogen light, so the camera should not be mounted or pointed directly at the sun or other bright-light sources.

About Surveillance Camera Technical Features
Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three Lux would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the Lux level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.
