Perfect except hot spot
|
This camera works beautifully for infrared, whether combined with visible using a yellow or orange filter, or IR-only using filters as deep as 950nm. Autofocus works well even with a deep IR filter as long as your light source has enough IR, just don't try it under fluorescent lights, they don't put out IR.
The only negative is that the lens has an IR hot spot in the middle of its zoom range when you're shooting deeper IR. Takes some getting used to zooming past the hot spot one way or the other. Good thing it has 9MP to allow cropping after you zoom wide to avoid the hot spot. |
