Reliable unit that quickly and quietly performs.

I chose this scanner with some care. I had a large number of historically relevant documents that I may need "some day".
Cheaper units were available but many rely on device specific drivers and are not twain compatible. Worse, many are single bit and so scan quality and grayscale suffers. Finally duplex scanning can save a lot of time.
This unit has performed admirably in two weeks of solid use. Set up was simple, connection and scan speeds are rapid over the USB interface. Scanning is a snap within acrobat. (Supplied) The document feeder rarely misfeeds. The unit footprint is small. Scan quality is high, but not that of a flatbed.
For document scanning definitely worth the extra money over cheaper single bit units.
