Beware of ViewSonic!

Beware of ViewSonic, and beware of reviews from users who have had the product for less than 6-8 months.
Viewsonic has a product quality issue with horrid customer service. I bought my projector in June 2006. At first I loved its bright, high-quality image and ease of use. If I had written my product review during my first 10 months of ownership, I would have given it 5 stars. But then...
After only 10 months of very light usage and very careful handling, it quit working. The good news is that ViewSonic agreed to repair it under warranty, the bad news is that three months after initially contacting ViewSonic I still don't have a working projector. First they promised to repair it, and I sent it in. Then, after receiving it, they kept slipping the date by which they promised to send it back to me. Finally they said they "couldn't" repair it, and offered to send me an "open-box" replacement, which I agreed to. That was a month ago, and I still haven't received it. They kept giving me promises like, "We'll ship it in 3 days", and a week later it still hadn't left their shipping dock. |
