♥♥♥♥♥ I really wanted to love the Pentax Optio 750Z...
...But it has horrible low light focusing ability which is just unacceptable. I bought one of these a couple of days ago with high hopes. It seemed to have all of the features I have been waiting for in a compact camera: VGA movie mode, swivel LCD, wireless remote, etc. Unfortunately I quickly learned that the low light focusing was just not working at an acceptable level. I had hoped the latest firmware would help but after extensive testing, both before and after the firmware upgrade, it seemed to make no difference at all. Since I had read similar experiences on DPReview.com that this may be a problem I did extensive testing in different low light situations using my Panasonic FZ20 and my Sony P-150 along side the 750Z. Both the Panasonic and Sony could literally focus on anything. Not so with the 750Z... and I hate that because I really wanted this to be my compact, carry-everywhere camera, replacing the Sony. (I do love the Sony but not enough manual features for me) Maybe I got an unlucky lemon, but from what I've read from other sites I don't think so.

I think this camera deserves 5 stars for all of the incredible features that are packed into such a compact camera but if a camera can't focus in all situations then it does me no good, hence the 2 star rating. Your mileage may vary.
