The pieces of the puzzle just don't fit
|
One way to satisfy your movie audience is to give them a nice surprise ending. Unfortunately, vetrans of this genre may see the "surprise" coming long before it is officially due. And once the oh-I-didn't-see-that-one-coming trap is sprung, you don't want to look too closely at how the pieces of the puzzle fit together; cause they don't. Interstingly, a tag line of the movie is that con games don't hold up if closely scrutinized. The writers should have taken their own advice.
For a great example of the con game genre check out "House of Games", starring Joe Mantegna. It's a great ride, with a cohesive, keeps-you-guessing plot. |
