Personally, Cowboy Bebop is both my first watched and overall favorite anime. The show's themes and storylines encompass nearly every genre and style with a masterful grace. Perhaps the most impressive feature is the original soundtrack, composed by Yoko Kanno - her talent is fully explored and displayed throughout the entire series.
My Funny Valentine gives to us a closer look at who Faye really is - or rather, how she came to be who she is. Speak Like A Child continues her unveiling in a more mild tone - including the rest of the Bebop Crew on her journey.
Black Dog Serenade finds Jet Black dealing with issues of his own - a call from his old partner [police] leaves him staring reluctantly at his cybernetic arm. With a hat and music reminiscent of Dick Tracey-style, Jet goes alone to find his own version of closure.
Mushroom Samba is all about Ed! This episode, with it's relaxed and amusing mood, earned a spot on the compilation "Cowboy Bebop - Best Sessions". Perhaps Ed's value to the Bebop is not solely in her computer genius.
"Where's Spike?" you ask? Conversing with a talking toad climbing the infinite stairway to heaven.
After experiencing Cowboy Bebop you will want to see all it has to offer - though if not yet an otaku [Japanese term describing one who loves anime], be forewarned - you will be unlikely to find any more impressive than Cowboy Bebop.
