| I honestly bought this just because it was a cheap/impulse purchase, thinking I might watch it once and that would be it. Hell no!! The live clips of "Highway Star" and "No No No" are brilliant, the latter being one of my favorite DP tracks anyway, but here they are absolutely ripping. The band is at their peak and it shows. "Hallelujah" appears to be miming the studio track, but its a clip that I've never seen before, and the song is killer anyway. On the downside, the subtitle tracks were worthless...after about two minutes, I learned that Deep Purple were an important band, that "No No No" first appeared on Fireball, and other such gems of knowledge. I was hoping for some trivia specific to those clips, like Gillan had taken a piss in Blackmore's hat and he didn't know, something like that. Oh well. The bonus stuff is kinda nice, even if they are just advertisements for the other releases by the label. In the end, for the price they are asking this is mandatory for the big time Purple head. |
