The concept of "Gym in a box" sounds great - customize your routine by combining segments of floor aerobics and toning for arms, abs, butt & thighs, plus a pilates and a yoga segment for a well-rounded little bit of everything. The upbeat instrumental music is very nice with a slightly new age vibe, as is the chic, spacious set. While the exercise routines are an innovative departure from more traditional movements, many of the exercises are not only outright bizarre, but the effects of these exercises cannot be fully achieved because Leisa does not do enough repitions of each move, which is key to building muscle endurance and definition. Sure, you'll work the muscles to some extent if you can master all of the moves, at least enough to be sufficient for a beginning exerciser, but the moves are simply too complex, disjointed, unorganized and poorly queued for a beginner level workout - or any fitness level for that matter.
I can really only imagine that anyone who can easily grasp complex moves and unconventional exercise routines, without any clear queing, yet only want a mild workout might gain something out of this DVD. Personally, the endurance level of the exercises are simply not advanced enough (again, too few reps) for my level, for me to eagerly want to master all of the moves. It's a shame too, because I really enjoyed everything about this video, including Leisa's pleasant demeaner and voice, except the actual workout itself. If you're looking for a workout with a similar concept in that the exercises are less "traditional", yet are highly effective, easy to learn, and precisely queued, I'd recommened getting "The Bar Method" DVDs instead. Unfortunately, I found this to be an overall waste of time.
