House of Wax description
House of Wax brought Vincent Price into the horror genre, where he fit as snugly as a scalpel in a mad scientist's hand. Mystery Of The House Of Wax
|
| This is a good murder mystery and one of the best works of the late great Vincent Price. But for me the highlight of this DVD is the inclusion of the original Mystery of The House Of Wax film. I love films from the 30's;the clothes, the sets and the atmosphere. In my opinion, this story is more effective from the perspective of the Great Depression. The heroine is a hyperactive young woman who works for the local newspaper and who plays the detective following a series of disappearances of corpses from the morgue. Threatened to lose her job in those hard times ,she plunges herself deeper into danger with only a handful of policemen and a lot of luck as her allies. I enjoyed very much Glenda Farrell's performance as the spunky journalist and her interactions with men, especially her boss. Highly recommended. |
