I remember seeing this movie as a young child with my parents. I was so disappointed when I saw and heard the real Billie Holiday because in my mind, Diana Ross was Billie Holiday. I know jazz purists and those who know Billie Holiday's 'true story' will have a problem with the fictional embellishments of Lady Day's life; however, it doesn't take anything away from Billie Holiday's legacy. If anything, the film probably inspired folks who were/are unfamiliar with Holiday to search out her music and learn more about her short and somewhat tragic life. I highly recommend this movie...it has great acting, great costumes, great photography, and most importantly -- great music.   1     2     3   Non User
