♥♥♥♥ A Bronze Medal Performance!
As a youth hockey player who admired figure skaters (hotcha, hotcha), I've always been a big fan of music videos by the ladies, as they artistically express themselves to their own songs. (Imagine if Peggy Fleming recorded her own performance songs). And The Immaculate Collection is one of the top 5 video collections ever!*

Madonna, the Tonya Harding to Kylie Minogue's Dorothy Hamill, (and perhaps the top performer in history to publicly masturbate with a [...]) has a surprisingly good video set that earns an overall 8.7!

Here's how the 8.7 breaks down:

Moves - 9.2
Looks - 9.4
Attitude - 6.0
Effort 9.5 (unlike smooth-as-silk Kylie, Madonna always looks like she's trying painfully hard!)
______________________________________________________________________

Averaged to 8.7! She's gotta be happy with those scores!

Let's flash back and take a look at Madonna's performance pieces:

1. Lucky Star: Classic minimalism. And when Madonna is in such fine form, why let anything else get in the way? One of the top 10 videos ever.
2. Borderline: Another classic performance! She nailed it.
3. Like A Virgin: Uh oh! Break out the Lysol kids, Madonna's gonna get sloppier than a food fight on Nickelodeon!
4. Material Girl: Hot Sass goes with lots of "Ice." Madonna looks ravishing. Stunning!
5. Papa Don't Preach: Bad stumble! Madonna looks like a jaded 30 year-old playing a teen (where Kylie has always looked like a spry 21 year old dressing more adult). Doesn't work for me. Also, song and video has ambiguous message. (I'm not a fan of ambiguity... or messages).
6. Open Your Heart: Bangkok judges love it, but thumbs down from this American.
7. La Isla Bonita: Can't understand a word. I like Kylie's "La, La, La" better.
8. Like A Prayer: The bad girl of boogie gets blessed bliss and elevates big time. Transcendental Art!
9. Express Yourself: Expensive mess. Madonna doesn't need a bunch of sparkles to shine. Spartan "Lucky Star" is far better.
10. Cherish: Surprise - Madonna can do upbeat and natural - and she smiles a lot! (She should really keep that up). Pump up the jam!
11. Oh Father: Oh, costly fall! WAY too down-beat. I apathetically threw tomatoes at the monitor.
12. Vogue: A bit fussy, but stylish and entertaining. High-brow pop, if you will. And oh yes, Madonna can still dance.
13. Vogue (Live from the 1990 MTV Awards Show): Madonna takes MTV to a new level as the best looking Marie Antoinette in the video age (until Kirsten Dunst's 2006 role). This piece of cake is more "camp" than the Village People, but not as fun or 10-worthy!

* 1. Ultimate Kylie (10)
2. Kylie's Greatest Hits (10)
3. Paula Abdul's Video Hits (9.6)
4. Madonna's Immaculate Collection (8.7)
5. No Doubt's The Videos (8.2)
