| i watched this last night at a friend's house. i never watched the first one, but watching this is making me get the 1st and 2nd. my pal and i couldn't stop laughing. it was funny! but i did find nia long's acting boring, untalented, and uninspiring; i don't think she's a good comedic actress or knows how to be funny. she doesn't have comedic timing. she probably goes better in dramatic movies. yes, this is not trying to win an oscar, yes, the actors acting are weak and unbelievable (are they supposed to be strong?), and the story line is weak ( for some strange reason i felt like i was watching scary movie; a movie that's parodying something funny), but the jokes are funny, and i honestly think if it wasn't for Martin Lawrence's portrayal of Big Momma this would have been a dud. i gave it 5 stars b/c it mad me laugh out loud so much that it substituted for the movies weak acting and story. the bottom line is i enjoyed it and it was highly entertaining. even the way martin speaks when he's big momma is funny! | |
