| I'm amazed at all the negative reviews that say something to this effect- "this movie is so contrived and hokey and unrealistic and outrageous in plot etc. etc. etc.- yada yada yada!" NO KIDDING! This is a SCI-FI flick folks! That said, the film is nowhere nearly as bad as some here claim. If you like good Hollywood special effects, and the concept of a journey to the center of the earth on a hi-tech nuclear powered craft sounds interesting, this is your movie. One of the main reasons I purchased a big screen HDTV and an upconverting DVD player was to experience eye candy special effects, and this movie delivers! I won't repeat the plot here, since 99% of other reviews here have. Relax, grab some popcorn or ice cream, and enjoy the ride! | |
