Gave me shivers
|
I saw this episode of NG when it was aired on television--was just flipping around channels, and became drawn into it. It was unlike anything I've ever seen before in a wildlife program, or have seen since.
The film depicts the long-term feud between two gangs--one, a pride of lions, the other a pack of hyenas--as they range, forage, clash and contend for territory and food.
What's remarkable about this film, though, is that you can't help but become deeply involved in the conflict. You get to know the main players in this drama more intensely than you would with most nature films, and care about them as if they were people. I remember being so emotionally involved that the final clash literally gave me shivers.
I'm glad that this is coming out on DVD. At last I'll get to see Motsumi again.
