Cowboy Bebop - The Movie description
As the eagerly awaited Cowboy Bebop feature film reunites the original director, screenwriter, composer, and vocal cast, it's not surprising that the film plays like an expanded TV episode. What should be the routine capture of a two-bit hacker by Faye escalates into a deadly game of cat and mouse, as Spike and the gang struggle to prevent the evil Vincent Volaju from murdering every human on Mars. Director Shinichiro Watanabe handles the action sequences with his usual panache. Inside the sinister Cherious Medical research facility, Spike fights a beautiful agent, using a push broom in a series of maneuvers Jackie Chan might envy. The climactic duel between Spike and Vincent plays against innocent yet eerie images of a Halloween carnival, recalling the amusement park setting of episode 20, "Pierrot Le Fou." Knockin' on Heaven's Door will delight fans of the series and provide an excellent introduction for the uninitiated who want to know why Cowboy Bebop is so popular on both sides of the Pacific. (Rated R: violence, brief nudity, minor profanity, tobacco use) --Charles Solomon

♥♥♥♥ A Bright Star in a Sky of Anime
I would like to start by pointing out that this is an excellent Film, even if you are ot an Anime enthusiast. The film follows a typical Action movie format, but I found it much more entertaining than most movies.

The Plot is not extremely deep like many animes. It's more based on action. Additionally, it doesn't show us much more about the characters or offer an additional insight from the series. I would like to note however, that this film does not require viewers to have seen the series.

The animation is excellent, but certainly not the best animation coming form Japan. For Instance, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Blood, all of these films have much better animation than Cowboy Bebop. Quality of the animation seems to match the series; which is certainly acceptable. In short the film is pleasing to look at, and the fight scenes are very well animated; it just never has that beautiful polished look to it. At any rate, the animation is very acceptable and doesn't detract from the movie at all.

As always Cowboy Bebop has an excellent soundtrack. The music was fabulous, but they used some non jazz songs for the opening credits and for the closing, which I found to clash with the bebop style. Nevertheless, the score is still excellent. The music sets the tone for the movie and does so very well. I've considered purchasing the soundtrack and even making some mp3 ring tones out of some of the songs for my phone. The music is excellent, it deserves you r attention.

This is a great film, I would recommend it to anyone. As far as the Rating of "R" is concerned (My copy is actually rated "R"), it is rated R because we see a guy get shot in the head by our villain in some cross fire while fleeing from our main character "Spike." And whenever someone gets shot in the head and you see blood hit a wall, it will receive an "R" rating. I do not personally believe that that film deserved an "R" rating, especially considering that this is animated.

Again, I would like to say that this is an excellent movie and anime. Highly recommended to anime and action movie fans alike. This isn't the best movie ever or anything, but certainly worth a watch, and certainly a bright star in the sky of anime films.
