Medabots - Transport Metabee (Vol. 1) description Based on an old computer game, Medabots is a blatant attempt to create an animation/merchandise franchise on the Pokémon/Digimon model. In 2022 kids aspire to become "medafighters," the owners of special robots they battle in contests. The hero of the series is Ikki, who finds a rare, stolen Beetle medallion and uses it to power a ramshackle, second-hand robot, creating Metabee. But Metabee exhibits an obnoxious personality of his own: he refuses to obey Ikki and insults him. Student journalist and put-down artist Arika and mean Samantha and her gang, the Screws, complete the cast. The popular series on the Fox Kids' Network wants to be the next Pokémon, but parents need to know this series is more street-smart and caffeinated.
