I have been a Temptations fan for years. If I could have rated this DVD the way I really wanted, I would give it 10 stars!
As other reviewers have said, listening to the a capella versions gives you an even deeper appreciation for the Tempts enormous talent. Their harmonies were always tight, but when you remove the background music, it is absolutely incredible.
The Tempts were so cool, so smooth with their precision dance steps, stylish wardrobe, and stage presence. The Tempts, particularly the Classic 5 (David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams, Melvin Franklin, and Otis Williams), were tremendously talented individually...but as a group, they should have been the measuring stick for every male group that followed. In my opinion, they were the greatest. |
