Great performer, great musicians
|
Gordon Haskell is not the only good thing about this DVD. The Polish musicians accompanying him are very very good. However, do not expect something similar to Haskell's King Crimson years. The songs are more on the soft side, but mature and elegant, with rich arrangements.
The DVD production is top-notch with excellent sound quality and good camera work. Good extras too, with a very interesting interview with Gordon, a bonus live video and some video clips.
I would love to hear him sing a couple of tunes from his "It is and it is not" album, one of my all time favorites. Unfortunately he does not seem to be interested in revisiting the Seventies. But anyway, The Road to Harry's Bar is all about great musicianship. Don't miss it. |
