Do not buy this set

Three very good movies are included in this set. The set itself consists of only one disk, with "The Count of Monte Cristo" on one side and "The Thirty-Nine Steps" and "The Ghost Goes West" on the other.
The quality of my disk is horrible. I don't know whether it's a problem with the speed or what, but you can almost see the movements from one frame of film to the next, making the pictures blurry. It gives me a headache to watch it. And this is on all three movies!
The one bonus, a written bio of Mister Donat, contains nothing a reasonably cogent fan wouldn't have been able to write for himself.
If you ignore this recommendation, for added fun try to spot the misspelled word in the legal disclaimer!
I'll give this mess one star just for the films they included. Their selection is the only intelligent thing they've done. Good as these films are, they aren't worth having at any price. |
