A new Santo fan responds
|
| I'm a new Santo fan, having discovered these films through the Rise Above DVDs, which are very well done. Of the 5 films that I've seen so far, I would rank this one number 1 or 2. Of course, you have to have a taste for this kind of thing. But I find El Santo one of the most endearing "monster-fighters" I've ever come across. Yes, these films all have the flaws of many other 70s films (Mexican or otherwise)and the plots are repetitive. But they've got heart, which is not something I cannot say of similar Hammer products of the same period. And El Santo is absolutely the coolest superhero to ever come out of Mexico. |
