| Thrash pioneers Slayer have been known for years as being one of the best live acts, well, ever. Reign in Blood: Still Reigning finds the legendary band playing their entire landmark 1986 album "Reign in Blood" live from beginning to end, which in itself is reason enough alone to pick this DVD up. Besides all ten cuts from "Reign in Blood", some other live staples are thrown in like "Mandatory Suicide" and "War Ensemble" to boot, and of course, there's the blood soaked conclusion to the concert which is pure Slayer all the way. There are some interviews as well which are a more than welcome inclusion, and the band sounds and plays great (it's great to see original drummer Dave Lombardo back in the fold), while the video quality is solid and the crowd is more than into it. All in all, Still Reigning sums up just what the heavy metal pioneers are doing today, and this DVD is an absolute must own for any and every Slayer fan. | |
