Let's hope for some other views on this production, but in the meantime, here's a rough translation of what the review in Spanish had to say...
He says, "There's a saying: sometimes cheap things aren't so cheap after all." This Aida is magnificent, but... the action is slow and bogs down frequently, but given the price of this CD maybe we can't complain, in the end we got what we paid for.
He says the soprano (Dolora Zajick) is fantastic and has a God-given voice but -- in nicer words-- doesn't look the part of the typical romantic heroine. The tenor is good and the rest are too, but it doesn't merit five stars.
He said it doesn't have subtitles (is this true?) and that he had problems with the disc quality (some stopping and starting of playing, I think).
