| Money in the Bank-Ladder Match (Jeff Hardy vs Matt Hardy vs CM Punk vs Edge vs Mr.Kennedy vs King Booker vs Finlay vs Randy Orton) - Nice match, and a great way to kick off wrestlemania. Better than the first, but worse than last year's. Jeff and Edge are involved in an insane spot. Nice usage of weapons and ladders, and in the end Mr.Kennedy takes the briefcase, and loses it to Edge later the same year. 4/5
Kane vs The Great Khali - The Great Khali is a terrible wrestler. Even worse than this match, is that they made him win the heavyweight title later this year. Worst match this year easily. Khali wins after a chokeslam 1.5/5 Chris Benoit vs MVP (US Title Match) - These two were/are good wrestlers both. MVP should've won the title here, rather than at Judgement Day, because this was easily the better match. Awesome technical wrestling. Benoit uses the Diving Headbutt to end this one. 4.5/5 Batista vs Undertaker (World Heavyweight Championship match) - Batista is usually a kind of boring wrestler, and Undertaker is too. But this match was great. Batista's Powerslam through the table was great. I don't really care for either wrestler, but they really showed their best here. UT wins with a Tombstone. 5/5 ECW Originals vs The New Breed - A quite short match. It would've been a pretty stupid match if the New Breed had won. That's why it was quite predictable, the ECW Originals were great here, The New Breed... not so much. Ends like it should, 5-Star Frog Splash. 2.5/5 Bobby Lashley vs Umaga (Battle of the Billionaires, Special Referee Steve Austin) - This was basically Donald Trump vs Vince McMahon, who picked wrestlers for themselves. Lashley defeates Umaga after a Stunner and a Spear, after which Vince gets shaved bald. 3/5 Ashley Massaro vs Melina (Women's Championship) - Melina can't wrestle, Massaro isn't great either, but she should've won. I'm not big on the whole WWE Diva scene right now, cause only few can wrestle. For them being eye candy is an other thing. Anyway, Melina won, retaining the title. 2/5 John Cena vs Shawn Michaels (WWE Championship) - This was a nice match. Bad ending though. The Spike Piledriver to the steel steps was the high point in this one. Cena, gaining almost no offensive in this match however, locks Michaels in the STF-U and wins. God I hate Cena. But it doesn't takeaway from a great match. 4/5 Overall it was a good, but not great WM. Wrestlemania XX is still the best. |
