Horrible

| I live in Taipei and bought Weekend Explorer Wild Taiwan and Weekend Explorer's Taipei to share with my family more about where I am living. The quality of the videos was horrible. Shaky camera, poor tour guide, missed the MAJORITY of the major tour sites.. Instead of seeing Snake Alley or enjoying views of the Night Markets and snacks they serve, we get to see the tour guide dance with a couple of the aboriginees and beat a drum at a small cultural event. If the program was longer, things like this might be acceptable. But when we are talking about a 30 minute documentary and they substitute viewing the major tourist attractions with crap that the local population doesn't even care anything about, it's just not acceptable. Overall it's a horrible documentary of what the country has to offer. The Taipei DVD also includes the entire Wild Taiwan DVD on it as well, so no need to waste your money on both like I did. Well, even buying one of them is a waste of money IMO. Taiwan is even mispelt on the front cover of the DVD as "Tiawan". This was produced by PBS. Enough said. |
