| Truth be told, the poster is bunches better than the film. Apparently way back in 1960 Roger Corman wanted to vacation in Puerto Rico, and decided to shoot a film to pay for it. So what he gives us is THE LAST WOMAN ON EARTH, one of his most uninteresting efforts. And probably cheapest, since 90% of the film only has three characters in it, one of them the screenwriter Robert Towne (CHINATOWN) who plays a lawyer. Some unexplained somehow, everyone in the world (supposedly, at least) is croaked, leaving two men and one woman. So of course you can figure out there're going to be a lot of problems, none of them worth watching. No wonder I've never heard of this film, and now that you have, you can be glad you don't have to watch to find out it's a waste of celluloid. |
