Great cheap headphones.
|
These are great headphones if you want some cheap ones that have decent sound. Currently, I'm on my 2nd pair of these. I had the 1st pair for a few years and the wear and tear finally got to them (they never broke) so I went and bought the 2nd pair. I love these. They are pretty comfortable and lightweight and I can wear them for a long time before having to take them off. What I really like about these is how good of sound they have. For $20 headphones (they are $20 in most stores), the sound is amazing. They respond better to higher frequencies (guitars, etc.) but you can still hear treble and bass pretty well, especially for being as cheap as they are. I have a set of Bose Triport OEs as my good headphones. Bose is overpriced (especially on the Sound dock ipod stereos) but not necessarily overrated. My OEs are pretty comfortable and have good sound. I use the Sony headphones for more everyday things as they are cheaper and more durable.
The one drawback about these Sony headphones is that the cord has a tendency to tangle up really easily and is pretty long (around 4-5 ft.).
Another good thing about these headphones is you can still hear people a little bit when you are using the headphones, so you can tell when someone's talking to you.
By the way, these headphones have a short cord connecting them. This cord is supposed to go across the back of your neck so that you can keep them around your neck when you're not using them. Also, I just read some of the 1 and 2 star reviews about these and thought I should clarify something: the part about how they make your ears bend or deform. This is true, however, once you learn to put them on correctly, they are secure, stay on, and they don't bend your ears. When I got the 1st pair, the headphones bent my ears down too. I was going to return them to Best Buy, but then I figured out how to put them on correctly. When you put them on, press the back of each one towards your head just a tiny bit. When you have them on right, the ear clip should be resting against the side of your head. If they're bending your ears or if they feel like they're going fall off, most likely you will notice that the ear clip is not entirely resting against the side of your head.
The bottom line: if you're looking for some cheap headphones that are comfortable and have decent or better sound and that are durable enough for everyday use, then these are for you. I highly recommend these. |
