A Winner Out of the Box
|
The combination of an excellent product, a courteous and on time delivery service, and a competent driver/technician to set up the HDTV was an unexpected delight. Assembly of the stand was a bit tricky, but the driver managed it without difficulty. Once the unpacking and assembly were complete, all of the packing materials were taken away.
The 42" Toshiba's performance right out of the box was just fine. In the several days since delivery I have had no problem with the instructions and menus for tweaking, color, contrast, brightness, audio balance, etc. The video performance on true HD transmission is breathtaking, and the audio performance (even without external add-ons) is quite acceptable. For a set this size, I see no point whatever in jumping from 720p to 1080p. Watching the PGA match play golf tournament on an Arizona desert golf course this last week-end was pure delight.
I am not into HDDVD yet, but conventional discs show much improved performance on this set. Absolutely no glitches yet, and until then I am a happy purchaser. L.W.Sessions, 2/25/08 |
