♥♥♥♥♥ Nice compact MP3 player
The iAudio U2 is a very nice, compact, flash MP3 player. I have the blue 512 MB version.

This is my first MP3 player, and I found the menus a bit confusing, but this is a fault of mine, not the player. For example, the default was set to stop after each song, and it took me a few minutes to figure out how to get the songs to play continuously. After a bit of experimentation, I was able to navigate through the menus easily.

The line-in recording worked great with my laptop. It's as simple as plugging the included cord into the headphone jack, setting the record function, and pressing the record button.

I have only tried the FM function when testing out the player; the few stations I tried came in quite clearly. However, I am in a decent-sized city with nearby stations.

The sound seems very good to me, even with the included headphones (however, I am not what you'd consider an audiophile, so take this with a grain of salt). I find the included earbud headphones rather uncomfortable. The buds are a little too large for my ears. The wires are uneven; the iAudio website says this is on purpose, as one wire is meant to go around the back of the neck; again, I find this uncomfortable.

The package also includes a USB cord to connect the player to the computer, a USB adapter if you don't want to use the cord, a lanyard, and a case for the player. The player charges through the USB connection on the computer. The case seems cheaply made, with a plastic "window" that doesn't look like it will last long. I much prefer the look of the player without the case. The player itself seems very nice, light but reasonably sturdy, except for the plastic USB port cover.

To transfer "secure" WMA files, you must use Windows Media Player (I believe version 9 or above will work), and use the transfer function. You cannot drag and drop these files in the same manner as "regular" MP3 files. It took me a little while to figure this out.

I have not tested the battery life, as I have ended up plugging it in to the computer before the battery runs out.

Overall, a very nice, small, lightweight MP3 player. It was a good first choice for me.
