Atlantic Technology AW-424-P-WHT 2-Way All-Weather Speakers, White (Pair) description Employing tough, weather-resistant materials and a state-of-the-art acoustic design, the AW-424 lets you take Atlantic's famous sound into the garden or out on the patio. Each speaker boasts dual 4.5-inch graphite-loaded homopolymer (GLH) woofers and an advanced 1-inch, ferrofluid-cooled soft dome tweeter with a powerful neodymium magnet structure. The driver combination creates a detailed, articulate sound and a frequency response that extends from 70 Hz to 20 kHz. Meanwhile, the drivers are mounted in an acoustically inert, heavily reinforced enclosure made from mineral-filled polypropylene. The poly material is far more neutral and less "ringy" than the stuff from which conventional outdoor speakers are typically made, resulting in a much more lifelike and musical sound. Audiophiles will dig with woofer-tweeter-woofer arrangement, which controls the speakers' dispersion and ensures that the sound is directed at the main listening area rather than scattering in all directions.
