♥♥♥♥♥ Huge HUM problem
Received this in response to my Christmas list for a surround system for our Hitachi 55" Plasma TV. Before I opened it I read the reviews here and was really not sure that I wanted to keep it. The lack of control and seemingly incomplete set up instructions (many reviewers had to call Bose to get it set up right) had put me off. Finally decided to give it a go hoping that all would go well. Well, my husband spent the entire afternoon working on it. Finally got it ready to go and "flipped the switch". HUGE disappointment - the hum was so loud we couldn't hear the voices.

We made several adjustments and followed the notes from another reviewer with the exception of changing out the cords. (It is now 6 PM on New Year's Day - no where to go to get the cords and Bose help line is closed for the holiday.) Those efforts were fruitless. What I did notice though was that the hum diminished substantially when I held the RCA jack next to the plug rather than insert it. Seems like the cords are the problem.

What a disappointment in the brand and quality. Bose obviously is no longer the premium producer it once was. I'm packing it up to return it tomorrow.
