A good little TV tuner
|
I own a Dell desktop computer and lovely 24 inch flat panel monitor. We had previously hooked up a VCR to the monitor so that we could watch TV. When the VCR broke, we looked around for a cheap TV tuner with no frills, and that is exactly what we got with this CTX TV box. I can watch TV without turning on the computer or (thanks to the monitor functionality) I can watch TV in a PIP window if the computer is on.
Downsides are the CTX TV box has no closed caption, and does not let you know what channel you are on. There's no on-screen menu either. It simply operates by using a remote control, which is included.
Mostly it has been reliable, but occasionally I have to unplug it and plug it in again to get it to turn on. It was about half the price of other tuners I had checked out, so bottom line, I am pleased with it. |
