More than just a powerful, multi-function digital audio player, the Creative Labs Zen Neeon can also adapt to your mood. It features seven changeable LED color backlights and Creative's unique and fun Stik-On skins (available separately), which adhere securely to the Neeon's cover and peel off easily when your mood changes. This pint-sized 5 GB hard drive digital audio player (in black with red brushed metal backplate) plays both MP3 and WMA files (as well as WAV format files). It offers a built-in FM tuner (with recording capability), voice recorder (via built-in microphone), and line-in recording. It has a built-in lithium-ion battery that provides up to 16 hours of continuous playback.

The direct line-in recording enables you to record directly from other audio sources such as CD/DVD players, turntables, and cassette tape players. Practice mixing and scratching on any turntable and directly record what's playing. It's also great for use with an external microphone for recording concerts. The built-in microphone and integrated voice recorder are great for capturing lectures or quick voice reminders. The FM tuner offers 32 presets, and you can also quickly and easily record programming. This player also features four EQ presets (classical, jazz, pop, and rock) and easy scroll-wheel control.

Not a bad little player: battery life is good; sound quality can be good (get better headphones though), and you get 5GB crammed into an incredibly small amount of space. All of that said though, it is not very friendly to use - as others have stated, the scroll wheel can be fiddly and this leads you to jumping about all over the place, the screen can be very difficult to read, but the biggest bug bear of all for me is that this damn machine will not play album tracks in the album order - everything goes into alphabetical order. 25 years after the PC was invented and this thing reels tracks off in rote like a demented teacher! Make that 2 *'s.
