GPX BCD3805SP Portable CD Boombox with Digital AM/FM Tuner description
Enjoy your favorite CDs without investing in a spendy player with the affordable GPX BCD3805 boombox. Also compatible with traditional audio CDs and CD-R/RWs, the boombox is a good choice as a backyard or tailgate stereo, or for offices and bedrooms with no system of their own. As with most other GPX systems, the device is designed with simplicity in mind. The front panel features a unified LCD display for the CD and the radio with an amber backlight. It's also outfitted with a number of function buttons that enable the CD player's track programming, along with such basic tasks as repeat play, song skip/search, and play/pause. Should CDs get old, listeners can turn to the digital tuner to enjoy their favorite AM and FM stations. The device even includes a number of radio presets that make it easy to find those stations again and again. The BCD3805SP differs from other boomboxes in a major way, however. Rather than locating the two speakers on either side of the components, this system's speakers are found directly below the CD player, tuner, and LCD screen. The unique configuration gives the system a sleek, original appearance that's bolstered by the wraparound handle. The BCD3805SP owes its audio performance to its dynamic bass boost system (DBBS) and pair of full-range speakers. The DBBS pumps up the bass to improve the low-end sound, while the speakers take care of the rest. Additional features include a stereo headphone jack for private listening, a telescoping FM antenna, and a unique 12-volt DC jack that lets you power the box through your car's cigarette lighter (the necessary adapter is sold separately, however). Appropriately for a portable player, the boombox also runs on eight "C" batteries when it's not plugged into the wall. The device carries a 90-day warranty on parts and labor.
