Incompatible

| While others have had success in getting this card to work, I did not. I was trying to connect an external hard drive -- a 12 V accessory, to this card. I have read of cautions that others have had problems, but the favorable reviews for this card led me to take a chance. The first card I got, I was told by technical support, was defective. The manufacturer replaced the card (as long as I sent a check for postage to them first). Unfortunately, nothing I did it made a second card work either. CompUSA did accept the return and refunded me the purchase price of the object -- but not the original postage-- even though the card didn't work. Perhaps if you're trying to connect a low-voltage item to your older laptop computer this card may work, but it didn't work with an external 12 V hard drive in my laptop. |
