Hitachi 32UDX10S 32" HDTV-Ready TV description
Upgrade to the next generation of TV performance with the Hitachi 32UDX10S 32-inch TV, which broadcasts high-definition 1080i signals when paired with an external HD tuner. The TV is loaded with features to satisfy the most demanding home theater enthusiast, including a dual-tuner picture-in-picture (PIP) option that displays two programming sources at once, along with Digital Display Driver circuitry that not only enhances HD signals, but improves conventional 480i and 480p programming. Other video advancements include a 3D digital comb filter, which improves detail and color purity; the image-refining tenacity of velocity scan modulation; and an adjustable color temperature option that varies the warmth of the onscreen colors depending on the room's light sources. In addition, the TV includes a 16:9 enhanced aspect ratio for widescreen sources. Viewers will also appreciate the host of convenient user features, such as commercial skip (automatically returns to the original channel when the timer expires, so you can surf during commercial breaks), a freeze mode for the PIP window, a sleep timer for folks who like to doze off while watching late-night talk shows, channel labeling, and closed captioning for the hearing impaired. Parents can rest easy due to the V-chip parental control, which restricts mature programming from children's curious eyes. Accompanying the HD-enriched video aptitude is a comprehensive audio system, which includes SRS 3D sound (creates a 3D audio environment with a two-speaker setup) and BBE technology (improves the original audio signal while maintaining its integrity). Viewers can combine the two features for better overall performance in both a traditional stereo system and a multi-speaker surround setup. In addition, the TV receives secondary audio programming (SAP) when available and includes an audio leveler system to keep the volume consistent when programming varies. As with most modern TVs, the 32UDX10S offers no shortage of inputs and outputs, with three S-video inputs (one front and two rear), three composite inputs (one front and two rear), a component input, a monitor output (with S-video), and an audio output for hi-fi use. What's in the Box TV, remote control, two AA batteries, user's manual. |

Amazing picture, but...
|
| I purchased this set a little over a year ago because I was amazed with the picture while comparing it to other sets next to it. The colors can be adjusted with the different theater settings, and I love how you can set it so that while switching channels some don't come in louder than others. I've had friends and family over for football games and to watch movies and have received many complememts on the picture. My one problem is with something that someone else also noted. In the lower left corner of my television, the color began to look faded. I'm happy I purchased an extended warranty through Circuit City. A local technician came over to fix it a few days later, but the fading looks worse, and I will have to call them again. My speakers are pushed all the way against each wall, about 5 feet away from the TV. I REALLY don't want to replace this set with another because I love the picture I get from it, but the faded color in the corner bothers me, especially after paying so much for a TV. One other minor complaint is that I sometimes hear a high-pitched noise coming from the back of the set. That also bothers me. I don't have a progressive scan DVD player yet, but I will probably be upgrading that and my receiver within the next year. I love the picture on this TV, but there have been a few small problems with it. |
