Ignitek iCarrier Home Audio System for iPods description Most people think of iPod speaker systems as small, self-contained desktop or bookshelf models that are little bigger than the iPod itself. Enter the Ignitek iCarrier tower system, which offers a comparably sized footprint to most of its competitors (roughly 1 square foot), but stands 37.8 inches tall--helping it achieve a fuller dynamic range and improved clarity. The three-way system comes with a quartet of 2-inch midrange drivers, a pair of 0.75-inch dome tweeters, and a large 5.25-inch dual-coil subwoofer that sits at the bottom of the unit. The tweeters and midrange drivers deliver a combined frequency response of 100 Hz to 20 kHz, while the ported subwoofer extends from 50 to 500 Hz, ensuring that your iPod tunes sound rich and robust, with far more bass response than typical iPod speakers. Because the iCarrier stands up to your waist, it's easy to plop the iPod in the built-in docking/charging cradle or select a playlist. And though the cradle isn't compatible with the iPod shuffle, it comes with inserts and cables for just about every other iPod, including the iPod 1G and 2G (includes an RCA-to-DIN cable), the 40 GB iPod and iPod photo, the 15 GB and 20 GB iPods, the iPod mini, and the iPod nano.
