Each speaker's mounting cutout measures 7.88 inches in diameter and sits 4.25 inches deep--an unobtrusive size that easily holds the speaker's 6.5-inch titanium-laminate cone woofer and 1-inch dome tweeter. The units are ideal for use as main speakers in your living room or secondary speakers in an adjacent room (when connected to the main receiver), or even as home theater surround speakers (rear left/right) when watching movies or listening to five-channel audio sources. Listeners will appreciate the 40 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response--which handles bass frequencies with ease--along with the white faceplate that blends easily into most ceiling surfaces (users can also paint the faceplate to match different-colored ceilings). In addition, the tweeters are located on swiveling mounts, so users can customize their angle to maximize the audio performance. The speakers are relatively easy to install using a Philips screwdriver, utility knife, tape measure, and carpenter's level. However, it's difficult to move or reposition them once the cutout is made, so users are advised to take their time when determining the ideal listening location.
