JVC PD-42V485 - Plasma TV - 42" - widescreen - EDTV Ready description Turn your living room into your own personal cinema with the 42-inch JVC PD42V485 plasma TV. It has a built-in 181-chanel NTSC tuner, but you'll need a separate HDTV tuner to receive high-definition broadcasts. It features five video status settings, six aspect modes, digital color management with gamma correction, and an HDMI interface. HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver) with your TV or monitor. The 3D digital comb filter helps reduce video noise by comparing each horizontal scanning line with the lines above and below and with the corresponding line on the previous subsequent video frames. The 3:2 pulldown cinema video processing feature detects and compensates film--which is shot at 24 frames per second (fps) compared with video's 30 fps rate--to video for a smooth theater-like experience at home. The Picture-in-Picture (PIP) feature enables convenient simultaneous viewing of TV programs and video sources. It has two built-in 10-watt speakers (for 20 watts of total power) with Hyper Surround virtual surround sound. The BBE High Definition Sound Processing circuit adjusts the phase relationships of the low, mid and high frequencies and the augmentation of the higher and lower frequencies.
