JobSite AB50-X2 2-Channel Power Amplifier with Auto Speaker Switching description
Designed for listeners looking to direct their TV sound through distributed audio speakers, the JobSite AB50-X2 amplifier offers a pair of stereo channels at 50 watts each to ensure topnotch, dynamic audio performance. As an added convenience, the amp also employs auto speaker switching, letting you quickly change the configuration from one pair of speakers to two without suffering through setup hassles. The speaker pairs connect to the front-panel A/B four-pin connector plugs, while the TV connects to the RCA input terminals and the AC current-sensing outlet. Note that the AB50-X2 can also be connected to a multizone receiver for larger distributed audio systems.

Each of the AB50-X2's two channels also offers low-impedance stability (4 ohms) to ease the switching process and an automatic protection circuit that resists shorts or overloads in the speaker, wiring, or component. Another nice feature is the unit's multiple turn-on modes: constant mode synchs the amp with the front-panel master power switch, as with a traditional component. Turn on the master switch and the amp turns on. Audio sense mode, conversely, responds to the audio signal in the left and right inputs. When the amp doesn't detect an audio signal, it simply turns itself off. If it detects a signal, the amp turns on by itself. The third mode responds to the 3- to 30-volt AC/DC trigger input. The amplifier only turns on when it detects AC or DC voltage at the input along with a line-level audio signal. The voltage trigger can be supplied by connecting a 12-volt AC wall adapter to the switched outlet of your stereo receiver.

Additional features include an output gain control, a volume control, and a current-sensing circuit. The amp, which offers a 5 Hz to 50 kHz frequency response and consumes 2 amps of power, measures 8 by 2.25 by 7.5 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a two-year warranty on parts and labor.
