Reception Not Nearly Good Enough

| I bought this radio based on the previous positive Amazon customer reviews. I was looking for a digital radio with a good tuner capable of picking up distant stations (both AM and FM) that my analog radios have a little trouble with. I was disappointed. Three FM and two AM stations with my favorite stations do not come in at all. One AM station comes in with a shrilling background noise. My wife has the portable Sony ICF-M410V which is awesome. It picks up all the FM stations and the AM stations have no background noise at all. The Sony uses only a telescoping antenna. In short, I was very disappointed in the KA2031. Yes, some stations that it picks up do come in well, but if they are not the ones you want, it is useless. |
