Just what I wanted and MORE
|
After reading all the reviews, doing research, and agonizing over whether to buy this model or not, I took the plunge - and I am glad I did. I love this toaster. I've experienced none of the problems that I have read about in these reviews. In spite of its size (not that bad actually) and lack of color choices, I would buy this model all over again.
This model toasts quickly, evenly, and precisely. Whether the bread is thick, thin, white, full of raw grains, or even soy based, every piece is to my satisfaction. Most toasters do not reach the crispness I prefer without burning the bread, but this model makes hot, crisp toast at the darker settings I prefer without turning it to charcoal.
As for bagels, I simply warm the outer crust on the warming tray on top then toast it as usual. The warming tray is fabulous. I LOVE THIS FEATURE! I use it to defrost or warm various items that I do not want to toast (read the caution statement in the manual first though). The defrost setting is wonderful as well. No more waiting for buns to thaw if I forget to take them out of the freezer in advance. I simply warm the buns on the warming tray until I can open them without mangling them, then pop them into the toaster on defrost, followed by a toasting cycle if I choose. Finally, let's not forget the lever to raise the bread out of the toaster - ingenious. No more digging for jammed or broken bread again!
Seriously, I would give this as a gift to my own mother without reservation. |
