Pay attention during setup.
|
Once you have all of your model numbers setup goes fairly smoothly but not necessarily intuitively. Pay close attention to which device and process you are working with during setup. The first USB port I used wouldn't work but after I switched to another it worked 90% of the time. This was a little frustrating as the first port works fine with other devices. I had to call Comcast to get the model number for my box as it is not noted on the box itself. I also missed the special selection if your TV is a Toshiba so I wasted a lot of time trying to get the TV inputs for all of my video devices working correctly.
The TV remote buttons work well but when I select Watch TV mode the Harmony goes to Watch TiVo and not all of the TV functions work such as Mute. I have to switch the Device to TV to enable some TV functions. This could be due to something I did wrong in setup. Also, there doesn't seem to be a way to set the picture size automatically when you select Watch A Movie (DVD player). My DVD player defaults to a regular non-wide scrren. Again, I have to switch the device to TV to enable this and I had to reprogram a key on the Harmony to get this function. The keys on the Harmony are also a little small and take some time getting used to. After saying all this I guess I'm a little more disappointed than I originally thought. Once you get used to the all of the little tricks you need to do the remote functions well and still beats having 4 or 5 remotes laying around. I did notice that the price has dropped on the 670 since I purchased mine from Amazon 3 days ago. Wonder what is going on with that? |
